We are proud to work with Extract Coffee Roasters in Bristol who have supplied our house coffee from the very beginning. 

Our single origin house coffee, Cast Iron Espresso, embodies the consistency and finesse that Extract bring to every roast. The profile is darker, heavier, sweeter and bigger than most other coffees. The extended caramelisation of the natural sugars present in the coffee creates a punchy espresso and is reliably consistent, shot after shot.

Cast Iron is shade grown on Monte Rosa, a Rainforest Alliance certified farm on the Nueva Granada estate in the San Marcos region of Guatemala. Extract have been working with this farm since 2015.

The estate includes a protected waterway and runs numerous conservation projects - including planting more than 30,000 new trees. Access to healthcare and education facilities including an IT suite is provided for workers and their families.

Cast Iron is roasted on Betty, a 1955 cast iron Probat Roaster found in Cardiff in 2010 and lovingly brought back to life through a series of restorations by Co-Founder David Faulkner.  Her most recent restoration throughout 2018 and 2019 made further improvements on her efficiency and will keep this iconic machine running for many more years to come.
